Thanksgiving

It is so wonderful to have a day like today, Thanksgiving, to ponder on all things that we are thankful for, as well as all the many blessings in our lives!

Many are blessed to gather with family and/or friends…some may be enjoying a quiet, simple day like me.  I have been battling a bacterial infection along with a Fibro Flare (thanks to said infection and the medication for it)….so my husband, son and I are having quality time!

It was such a blessing listening to the laughter, the squeals, and the many shouts as my husband and son were playing football on the Wii downstairs!

The beauty of the first snow raises my spirits! Can’t help but smile at the visible excitement of our son as he looks forward to the snowfall to come.img_6991

I look out our front window to view the snow covered mountain!  Just one of the many blessings of I can enjoy from the comfort of my recliner.

Thankful for the scented wax in my candle warmer…filling the house with a calming scent of sage. One of the few scents that does not cause nausea!

We will enjoy a simple meal today…smoked elk roast, rice and carrots….with pumpkin pie for our desert!  Sometimes it is the simplest of things that warm our hearts!  Those with chronic illnesses/conditions will truly understand that!

May each of you who read this be reminded of all that you have to be thankful for as the Holiday Season begins!

Gratitude Journal

I had the pleasure of attending a “Gratitude Gala” this evening….a wonderful soup and salad dinner with women of our community.

The opportunity to get together with friends is always nice (especially when not feeling well). Yet the “program” left a huge impression!

Three ladies had been asked to speak about what they are thankful for…each spoke from the heart…from a favorite fond memory to the idea of having a Gratitude Journal.

Each of us was challenged to keep a Gratitude Journal…to write one thing that we are thankful for at the end of each day. This could be done in a Journal…a notebook…on computer…on our smart phone (via Instagram or the like). It can be written…can be a photo with a brief description…whatever our preferred way.

I am excited to accept this challenge! I would encourage each and everyone to try this!
